Carrie Englert grew up in Tallahassee, Florida, but competed for the National Academy of Artistic Gymnastics, coached by Linda and Dick Mulvihill. After the Olympics, she would marry and become Carrie Zimmerman. She and her husband started The Zimmerman Agency in 1987, an advertising and public relations firm in Tallahassee. They have had several big-name clients, including Aflac, Citi Business, and ClubMed. In 2011, they were named as one of the top five public relations firms in the United States, and they only one of the top five not based in New York City.
