Yevgeny Korolkov competed at two major tournaments during his career, the 1952 Olympics and the 1954 World Championships. At the Olympics, Korolkov won a team gold and pommelled horse silver, while finishing sixth in individual all-around and at the World Championships he won team gold and rings silver, while finishing seventh in individual all-around. Korolkov never won a Soviet title, winning three silvers (1954 individual all-around, 1954-55 rings) and two bronzes (1955 individual all-around, 1956 pommelled horse) at the Soviet championships. He also won the parallel bars and rings bronzes at the 1957 Soviet Cup. After finishing his sporting career, Korolkov worked as a gymnastics coach in Moskva, with his most famous pupils being Mikhail Voronin and Sergey Diomidov.
