Biography

Alan Bailey was a member of the Toronto Argonaut Rowing Club when he was selected to represent Canada at the 1904 Summer Olympics. There, alongside Phil Boyd, Thomas Loudon, Donald MacKenzie, Pat Reiffenstein, Colonel Rice, George Strange, William Wadsworth, and Joe Wright, Sr., he lost to the Vesper Boat Club of the United States in the final of the coxed eights. As there were only two teams in the event, however, Canada earned a silver medal.
