David Clark rowed at Cornell, graduating in 1982 and helping them win the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) title in both 1981 and 1982. The Cornell crew also competed at the Henley Royal Regatta. Clark competed at both the 1981 World Championships, stroking a coxless four that won a bronze medal, and at the 1983 Worlds, where his four placed seventh. Clark added a silver medal in the coxless four at the 1984 Olympics.
