Jamie Koven began rowing in prep school at St. Paul’s School in Concord, New Hampshire. He later rowed at Brown University, where he studied mechanical engineering. Koven rowed for the US National Team from 1990-2000, competing at the 1996 and 2000 Olympic Games. He won two gold medals at the 1995 Pan American Games, in the four and eight. Koven competed at six World Championships (1993-95, 1997-99), and won four medals. He won golds in the eight in 1994 and the single sculls in 1997, adding bronze medals in the eight in 1993 and 1995.
Koven later entered the business world in finance and investment. He joined One Equity Partners in 2001 and became a full partner in 2005. He has also served on the boards of Genband, Globalpack, ANX eBusiness, Vertrue, Travel Leaders, Polaroid, and Carlson Wagonlit Travel. Koven is a member of the Brown University Hall of Fame and was named a Steward of the Henley Royal Regatta in 2009. After finishing his rowing career, he took up triathlons, winning multiple local triathlons in his age group.
