Gus Voerg rowed for the Western RC of St. Louis. Though finishing only third at the 1904 Olympics, Voerg and his Olympic teammates, Lou Helm and Frank Dummerth, had rowed a four in 1902 which won the national championship. Voerg was well known locally as a competitive swimmer and later became an excellent bowler, having to his credit several 300 games.
