Seifollah Ghaleb won his first major international sport shooting medals at the 1947 World Championships, taking silver in the team trap and bronze individually. He repeated those placings at the 1951 Mediterranean Games and also took silver in the team event at the 1952 World Championships. This led to his selection to represent Egypt at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics, where he was 12th in the trap. He then took team bronze at the 1954 World Championships and had his best year in 1955 when he became individual European champion and captured silver both individually and with the team at the Mediterranean Games. His final major international medal, gold with the team, came at the 1959 Mediterranean Games, just before his retirement in 1960.
During his career, Ghaleb reached the trap shooting podium at the Egyptian national championships on multiple occasions, including gold in 1949 and 1952, and bronze in 1959. He was also the skeet champion in 1949 and 1959, and runner-up in 1952. He was appointed coach of the national team in September 1973.
