Diver Ken Grove represented his home country Australia at the 1972 München Olympics. He failed to qualify for the final in both the springboard and platform events. In 1970 and 1971, he broke world records on the springboard, performing 100 and 143 different dives in each year respectively. He then became disillusioned due to lack of financial support and facilities in Australia and moved to Austria with his fiancée Brigitte.
In 1977, Grove received Austrian citizenship, and then represented his new home country at the 1980 Moskva (Moscow) Olympics, but again failed to reach the finals in both events, placing 15th and 12th respectively. Grove did, however, win seven Austrian national titles.
Grove studied sports at Wien (Vienna) University and later became a personal trainer and ran a fitness studio at Wien. For several years he toured as a high diver and later as a diving coach around the world. He also appeared in several TV shows and worked occasionally as a stuntman.
