Pentti Koskinen was a Finnish diver who won multiple national and Nordic titles. Koskinen competed at three consecutive Olympics; 1964 Tokyo, 1968 Mexico City, and 1972 München, with his best result of 12th place in Mexico. After the Olympics he became a physical education teacher, developing swimming lessons. Working at the Finnish Swimming Teaching and Lifesaving Association, he wrote a book in 1984 that became the definitive guide of swimming education in the country for more than two decades. Koskinen was influential in bringing swimming lessons to be a part of the physical education system in Finnish schools.
