Michael Kühne was a German diver who specialized in platform events. He finished seventh in 1992 at Barcelona and eighth in 1996 at Atlanta. In 1998, he won the silver medal at the World Championships partnering Jan Hempel in the synchronized platform event. The pair also won the gold medal at the 1997 Europeans. Kühne won his only national title in 1996. By profession, he became a graduated economist and worked in the leasing business.
