Biography

Olga Andrianova was a curler and curling coach who was key in the development of curling in Russia. From 1998 to 2012 Andrianova was the head coach of the Russian curling team. Andrianova also founded the Moskva school of curling. During Andrianova’s tenure as head coach, the Russian team won multiple titles in junior and senior international curling tournaments, including gold at the 2006 European Curling Championships. In 2006 Andrianova was the head of the Russian Curling Federation, a post she held until 2010.

Andrianova was the head coach for the Russian women’s curling team at three Winter Olympics; 2002 Salt Lake City, 2006 Torino, and 2010 Vancouver. Russia’s best result was equal-fifth at the 2006 Torino Olympics. Andrianova also coached the Russian mixed youth team at the 2016 Winter Youth Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway.

For her work in the sport Andrianova was awarded with the badge of “Excellence in Physical Education”, the badge “For Merits in the Development of the Olympic Movement” from the Russian Olympic Committee, the Honorary Order of the Russian Curling Federation, and the medal of Peter Lesgaft of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation.
