Joe Hatton was a Puerto Rican basketballer who played at the 1968 and 1972 Olympic Games. He was on the Puerto Rican national team from 1968-74, helping them win a silver medal at the 1971 Pan American Games and 1974 Central American and Caribbean Games, adding a bronze medal at the latter tournament in 1970. Hatton played domestically with the BSN Lions from 1966-76, winning the championship with them in 1966 and finishing second in the league in 1967-68. During his career with the Lions he averaged 16.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game. His son, Bobby Joe Hatton also became a top basketball player and competed at the 2004 Athina Olympics.
