Along with brothers Folke and Magnus Wassén, Carl-Erik Ohlson was the co-owner and a crew member of the Swedish boat Hojwa, which was skippered by Folke Wassén, and won a bronze medal in the 5.5 m class at the 1952 Olympics. As the 1952 Olympics were also considered the inaugural World Championships in 5.5 m class by the International Yacht Racing Union, the crew of Hojwa were also awarded the World Championships bronze that year. Carl-Erik Ohlson and his older brother Einar were successful boatbuilders and designers in Göteborg. They designed and built Rush V among others, which was skippered to the 1956 Olympic 5.5 metre class gold medal by Lars Thörn.
