Biography

Belgian track and field athlete Jean Lefèbvre was a representative of K. Tubantia F.C. in Borgerhout where he specialised in the long jump and javelin throw. Across the two disciplines Lefèbvre won nine national titles with his first one coming in 1919 in the javelin. 1921 saw him win his second javelin title and his first in the long jump before he went on to win six more long jump titles (1922–25, 1928–29). In 1921 he twice improved the Belgian long jump record with the latter mark standing until 1927. Lefèbvre competed in the javelin and long jump at the 1920 Antwerpen Olympics, finishing 22nd and 24th, respectively. He also ran in the 100 metres in Antwerpen but was eliminated in the opening heats.
