Biography

Julien Lehouck was a Belgian track and field athlete who represented ASSA Ronse. Lehouck ran in the 100 metres and the 4 × 100 metres relay at the 1920 Antwerpen Olympics but did not advance from the first round in either race. He also competed in the long jump at the Antwerpen Games, finishing in 25th place with a best jump of 5.760 metres.

During World War II Lehouck and his wife, Simonne Gerbehaye, were both members of the Belgian Resistance. The couple helped to hide Jews in the castle where they lived before being discovered by the Gestapo in February 1944. Lehouck was arrested on charges of espionage and aiding the Allies. He was soon deported to the Breendonk transit camp where he was later hanged.

Personal Bests: 100 – unknown; LJ – 6.62 (1920).
