Fouad Yazgi had a brief career in track athletics, with his most notable international appearance coming at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics. There, he was eliminated in the first round of both the 110 metres hurdles and the 4x100 metres relay, in the latter alongside Emad Shafei, Fawzi Chaaban, and Youssef Omar. Domestically, he was the Egyptian national champion in the 110 metres hurdles in 1952 and 1953. Yazgi immigrated to Canada in 1966, where he often went by the name “Fred”. He settled in Quebec and, in 1975, joined Ingersoll-Rand, where he eventually rose to the position of Regional Manager of Eastern Canada.
