Biography

Raili Halttu was a Finnish sprinter and long jumper who represented Helsingin Naisurheilijat. In 1934 Halttu became the first Finnish woman to jump more than five metres in the long jump. The following year Halttu set a Finnish record in the 100 metres that stood for 17 years. At the 1936 Berlin Olympics Halttu finished in last place in her heat in the 100 metres and was also part of the Finnish team in the 4 × 100 metres relay.
