Vasilios Sillis was a long sprinter who competed in the 200 and 400 metres at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics, and then returned eight years later to run the 400 and 4x400 relay at the 1960 Roma Olympics. Sillis won a gold medal with the Greek 4x400 relay team at the 1959 Mediterranean Games, adding a bronze in the 400 metres. He had also won silver in the 4x100 at the 1951 Mediterranean Games. Sillis set seven Greek records in the 400 between 1952 and 1962, finishing with his PB of 47.7 in 1962.
