Jiří David had the following podium finishes at major championships: 3rd in the 1946 European Championships 200 metres, 3rd in the 1946 European Championships 4×100 metres Relay (with the non-Olympians Mirko Paráček, Leopold Láznička, and Miroslav Řihošek).
