Clyde Blair finished 3rd in the AAU 100 in 1905. He ran for the University of Chicago and the Chicago AA. In 1902 Blair finished second in a heat of the 100 yds at the Penn Relays, trailing Arthur Duffey, who equaled the world record of 9 4/5 seconds. Blair also competed in the Olympic Collegiate Championship 100 yd race during the 1904 St. Louis Louisiana Purchase Exposition, finishing fourth. He later became a rancher, first on the Big Red Ranch in Sheridan, Wyoming, and later owning the Hot Creek Ranch in Nye County, California.
