Biography

Lorna Dyer was an American ice dancer who competed alongside John Carrell from 1963-68. The couple were North American Champions in 1965 and 1967, also winning the US title in 1967. Together, Dyer and Carrell were runners-up at the US Championships in 1965-66 and placed third in 1963-64. They competed at five World Championships, winning a silver medal in 1967 and bronze medals in 1965-66. Dyer had originally skated with King Cole, and they had placed third at the 1962 US Championships. Dyer later wrote a book on ice dancing, with Harry Brandt, entitled Ice Dancing Illustrated.
