Biography

Ecuadorian tennis player Ana María Ycaza played professionally during the late 1960s and early 1970s. In 1967 Ycaza and María Eugenia Guzmán won silver in the doubles at the Pan American Games in Winnipeg. The following year she competed at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics where tennis was played as a demonstration sport, once again pairing with Guzmán in the doubles, along with Miguel Olvera in the mixed doubles. In 1972 Ecuador made its début in the Fed Cup with Ycaza playing in four ties, with her winning one singles and two doubles rubbers.
