Charles Mulder competed at the 1924 and 1928 Winter Olympics, earning the first Winter Olympic medal for Belgium, in bobsleigh. Competing in Chamonix with brakesmen René Mortiaux, Paul Van den Broek, Victor Verschueren, and Henri Willems, Mulder steered the bob to third place in all runs, earning a bronze medal overall. He was also successful in ice hockey playing for Le Puck d’Anvers. On the international level, he represented Belgium at four European Championships 1924-27 in a total of 10 games, although only as an alternate in 1927. In 1924, the Belgium team won the bronze medal.
