Biography

Three-time Olympian Gerhard Pusnik was the brother of Andreas Pusnik and were both sons of Sepp Puschnig. The siblings were also nephews of Del Saint John.

Gerhard Pusnik was an Austrian ice hockey left-wing and member of the Olympic national teams at the 1988 Calgary, 1994 Lillehammer, and 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics. The teams were eliminated in the group stages and finished ninth, 12th, and 14th, respectively. Pusnik won 92 international caps and scored 79 points (40 goals + 39 assists).

Domestically, Pusnik played with VEU Feldkirch and EHC Linz. He became a four-time Austrian champion with Feldkirch (1982-84, 1990). He later obtained his coaching diploma and coached several clubs in Austria (Feldkirch, EHC Linz, Kapfenberger SV) and Switzerland (SC Rheintal, EHC Chur) as well as the Austrian under-18 and under-20 national teams.
