Austrian bobsledder Gerhard Redl was a three-time Olympian who competed at Sarajevo in 1984, Calgary 1988, and Lillehammer in 1994. Respectively, he finished 11th, seventh, and an unfortunate fourth with the four-men crew. Redl competed only in four-men bobs throughout his career. Redl was more successful at world championships, winning three silvers (1986, 1993, 1995) and a bronze (1990). At the Europeans he added one gold in 1989, two silvers in 1990 and 1995, and two bronzes in 1986 and 1993.
