Biography

Michael, brother of Jürgen Rumrich, was an ice hockey forward who competed at two Winter Olympics with the German teams in 1992 at Albertville, and 1994 at Lillehammer. In total, he won 78 international caps, scored 16 goals, and played in four World Championships from 1991-94. He was inducted into the German Hockey Hall of Fame.

Domestically, Michael Rumrich played with TEV Miesbach (until 1984, 1987-88), EC Bad Tölz (1984-85), BSC Preußen Berlin (1985-87, 1991-94), EHC Freiburg (1988-90), Eintracht Frankfurt (1990-91), Kölner Haie (1994-96), Mosquitos Essen (1997-99), and Heilbronner EC (1999-2001). Michael Rumrich later became a sports administrator, and a sporting director at lower league clubs.
