Medal Events | 6 |
The events were the same as in 1960: two pistol events – free pistol and rapid fire pistol; three rifle events – free rifle, small-bore three positions, and small-bore prone; and trap shooting. The pistol and rifle events were held at the Asaka Shooting Range while the trap shooting took place at the Tokorozawa Trap Shooting Range, specially built for the 1964 Olympics. The facilities were the most advanced yet for Olympic shooting, with electronic scoreboards showing broken targets in green lights and lost targets in orange at Tokorozawa. All countries had their own private locker rooms at both sites, with fresh flowers put out daily by the hosts.
