At the 1968 Mexico City Olympics the dressage and jumping events were contested at the Campo Marte, an equestrian venue located next to the National Auditorium in Chapultepec Park in Mexico City. Team and individual events were contested, and as in 1960, they were separate competitions. American Bill Steinkraus won the individual event while Canada took the team gold medal. As in 1964 all equestrian events in Mexico City were open to men and women, and that would be standard at all future Olympic Games.
