3x3 Basketball (pronounced “three-ex-three” in English) returned to the Olympic Programme for its second appearance, after Tokyo 2020. The events were held on outdoor courts at the Place de la Concorde, in Paris.
The format was the same as in 2020 for both men and women. There were eight teams each who played a full round-robin series of seven games. The top two teams in the round-robin advanced to the semi-finals, while the 4-6 ranked teams played off in the quarter-finals. Only the bottom two teams were eliminated after the round-robin.
