The women’s curling event had eight teams split into two groups of four teams, each playing a round-robin format to advance them to the semi-finals. Norway had won the World Championships in 1990-91 and was favored. They won Group A, advancing along with Germany, while Canada went undefeated in Group B to advance, along with Denmark. Norway crushed Canada, 9-2, in the semis, while Germany advanced by beating Denmark, 6-5. Germany then upset Norway, 9-2, in the final, with Canada winning the third-place match.
