Biography

Caroline Hallisey competed in short-track speed skating at the 1998, 2002, and 2006 Winter Olympics. She was US Junior Champion in 1997, 1998, and 2000. She started skating at age two but also competed for a time in equestrian show jumping. Hallisey married US short-track skater J. P. Kepka, who skated at the 2002 and 2006 Winter Games, and got her degree from the University of Colorado. Hallisey-Kepka later taught school part-time at the Glen Urquhart School in Beverly, Massachusetts and was a part-time coach at the Bay State Speedskating Club. She worked as a sales associate for Columbia Sportswear and was an operations assistant at a local nonprofit called New Earth.
