Biography

Born in the formerly Finnish town of Viipuri as the son of a tailor, Kalle Ekholm was a member of the Finnish team that won silver behind Norway in the free system team event at the 191 Stockholm Olympics. He also competed in the individual all-around event but did not finish. Twelve years later, he was again selected for his country’s gymnastics team for the 1924 Paris Olympics but did not start. Ekholm married Martta Emilia Jokela who was 22 years his junior. She gave birth to one son.
