Biography

Lutz Mack won an all-around bronze medal with the East German male gymnastics team at the 1976 Montréal Olympics. He failed to qualify for one of the apparatus finals and placed 11th in the individual all-around. Four years later at Moskva he won the team silver but again failed to qualify for the apparatus finals. In the individual all-around he came in 20th.

At the 1974 and the 1978 Worlds Mack earned two team bronze medals. In 1979, he won two more bronze medals on the rings and in the floor exercise. Domestically, he won nine individual national titles.
