Roman Monchenko was a Russian rower who competed at two Olympic Games. In 1992 he rowed with the Unified Team’s coxless fours, but they did not make the A final. However, he won a bronze medal with the eights in 1996. Monchenko was the champion rower of USSR in 1989 and in 1995 was the Russian champion. He competed for CSKA Moskva, and later became the director of the CSKA sports school in Odintsovo.
