Biography

Veronika “Ronny” Kohlbach finished fifth in the 1938 European Championships long jump competing for Nazi Germany after the “Anschluss”. She won 30 Austrian titles in 100 metres (1931-32, 1935), 200 metres (1931-1933, 1935), 4×100 relay (1931-32, 1935-1938), 80 metres hurdles (1935), long jump (1931-33, 1935-36, 1940-42), discus throw (1932, 1935-1937, 1941-42), and cross country (1932-33).

At the 1936 Berlin Olympics Kohlbach participated in the 80 metres hurdles but was eliminated in the heats, as she was in the 4x100 metres relay. In the discus she finished 13th. Kohlbach set four world records with her relay compatriots.

Personal Bests: 100 – 12.6 (1931); 80H – 12.2 (1936); DT – 39.05 (1937).
