Biography

Jack Oosterlaak was a track and field athlete who competed in sprint races for South Africa in the 1920s. The quartet of Oosterlaak, Henry Dafel, Clarence Oldfield, and Bevil Rudd won the silver medal in the 4 × 400 metres relay at the 1920 Antwerpen Olympics. Oosterlaak reached the final of the 200 metres at the Antwerpen Games where he finished in sixth place in a very close race. He also reached the semi-finals of the 100 metres and ran in the 4 × 100 metres relay race.

Personal Bests: 100 – 11.0 (1920); 200 – 21.7y (1922); 400 – 48.9y (1921).
