Andrew Sznajder

Andrew Sznajder was a Canadian tennis player who played professionally from 1988 to 1996. Sznajder achieved a career-best singles ranking of #46 in the world in September 1989, and a doubles ranking of #182 in the world in July 1991. He played on Canada’s Davis Cup team from 1987 to 1996.

Sznajder was born in Preston, England, and moved to Canada with his family when he was seven. He only won one singles title on the ATP Challenger Tour with a victory against Karsten Braasch in July 1989 in Chicoutimi, Canada. Sznajder also had just one doubles victory on the ATP Challenger Tour, winning in Brasilia in August 1990 with Jaime Oncins. On the ATP Tour Sznajder reached one singles final where he lost to Luiz Mattar in straight sets at the 1990 Rio de Janeiro Open.

At Grand Slams Sznajder reached the singles second round at all four tournaments apart from Wimbledon. He had better success in the Davis Cup when he was part of the Canadian team that reached the semi-finals in 1992. In the same year Sznajder competed in the singles at the Barcelona Olympics where he lost in the second round to Jakob Hlasek.
