Dmitry Yushkevich began his hockey career in 1988 with Torpedo Yaroslavl, playing there until 1991, when he joined Dynamo Moskva, where he played one season, winning the CIS Championship in 1992. In 1992 Yushkevich joined the NHL Philadelphia Flyers, playing there until in 1995 when he joined the Toronto Maple Leafs. Yushkevich played with Toronto until 2002, then played with the Florida Panthers, Los Angeles Kings and back with the Flyers before moving back to Russia in 2003. In Russia, Yushkevich played with Lokomotiv Yaroslavl (2003-04), Severstal Cherepovets (2004-05, 2007-08), Metallurg Magnitogorsk (2005-06), SKA St. Petersburg (2006-07) and Sibir Novosibirsk (2008-09), before joining Oulun Kärpät in Finland in 2009. Internationally, besides his two Olympic medals, Yushkevich was World Champion in 1993 and won a bronze at the 1996 World Cup.
