Biography

A three-time Olympian, Rudolf Trost made his début at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, where he competed in both fencing and modern pentathlon. At Mexico City 1968 and München 1972, he only participated in fencing, but never reached a final pool in foil or épée. With the épée, the Austrian team Trost finished ninth in both 1964 and 1972.

In modern pentathlon Trost came tenth with the Austrian team and 32nd individually in 1964. He won eight Austrian national title in individual foil (1968-69) and individual épée (1963-66, 1969, 1971). In 1967, he also won a bronze medal at the Fencing World Championships in individual épée.
