Norman Tatham

Norman Tatham was a native of Keighley, West Yorkshire, where he grew up alongside four siblings. He was the son of Stephen Tatham, who was a foreman at a Worsted weaving factory, where Norman also worked. A member of the gymnastics club at the local Keighley Parish Church, Tatham was one of 14 Yorkshire-based gymnasts who were selected to represent their country at the 1908 Olympics held in London, alongside Enos Walton, Bertie Stell, Joshua Speight, Robert Laycock, Frank Denby, A. V. Ford, J. W. Jones, Edgar Dyson, Charles Smith, Irven Robertshaw, Mellor Clay, Edward Clough, and Len Hanson. He later immigrated to the United States in 1909, sailing from Liverpool and arriving at Philadelphia in April of that same year. He eventually served in World War I in the US Army, and later settled in Los Angeles, California where he remained until his death in 1966.
