Kevin Kuske, together with his pilot André Lange, became the most successful German bobsledders of all time with four Olympic golds (2002 four-man, 2006 two-man and four-man, 2010 two-man) and one silver (2010 four-man). In his fifth consecutive Winter Games at PyeongChang in 2018, Kuske won another silver medal with Nico Walther in the four-man bob.
At World Championships, Kuske won another 15 medals (7-4-4), and at Europeans he collected 22 more medals (6-9-7). In 2008 he won the overall World Cup with the two-man bob and in 2001, 2003-04 and 2008 with the four-man bob.
Kuske’s father Norbert was a javelin thrower, his mother Roswitha a hurdler, and his brother Lucas was also a bobsledder. Kevin started out as a sprinter before he got into bobsleigh. He was then considered the fastest brakeman in the world. Kuske was awarded the Silver Bay Leaf, Germany’s highest sports award. Three years in succession 2006-08 he was the Brandenburg Sportsman of the Year.
Kuske later participated in several TV entertainment formats with German TV channels RTL, Sat1 and Pro7. In 2022 he became chief coach at the Regional Olympic Centre of Potsdam.
