Biography

André Verhalle competed in three Olympics (1952-1960), but also attended four Games (1968-1980) as the coach of the Belgian fencing team. In his active career, he won six national titles and nine national military titles, 13 in foil, 1 in épée and 1 in sabre. He participated in various world championships, but never achieved a medal ranking. His most important international title was the 1957 military world title in foil fencing; 7 years later he became a World Champion in the masters division.
