Olympic diving in 1992 took place at the Piscina Municipal de Montjuïc, which also hosted some preliminary matches in water polo. Swimming was contested elsewhere in 1992, which is somewhat unusual at the Olympics. There were four diving events – 3-metre springboard and 10-metre platform for men and women, which remained the standard Olympic diving program through 1996. After the 1988 Olympics, Swimming World announced that the 1-metre springboard would be added to the Olympic Program in 1992, but that did not occur. China won three of the four events in 1992, and 5 of 12 medals, with the United States and the Unified Team each winning three medals.
