As in the other two Canadian events, there were very few entrants in the distance race, just five starting. The defending European champions were Czechoslovakia’s Rus and Brzák-Felix, but they were not competing. The 1934 bronze medallist, Zdeněk Škrland, was racing with Václav Mottl. The race, held in the rain, was not a very exciting contest. The Czechs took the lead, with the Canadians and the other boats following them, with nothing happening during the race.
