Trap shooting consisted of 100 shots per man, in four series of shots, with double shots permitted. Hungary’s Gyula Halasy and Finland’s Konni Huber each had 98 successful shots, and shot-off for the gold medal, Halasy winning. The bronze medal also came down to a shoot-off, with the USA’s Frank Hughes defeating Canada’s James Montgomery, after each hit 97 clays.
