Status | Olympic |
Location | Campo di Tiro a Volo Lazio, Roma |
Participants | 66 from 38 countries |
The preliminary round advanced 36 shooters to the finals. The location of the trap houses at the Lazio Shooting Stand gave an excellent background of all sky, but exposed the shooters to the wind. This kept the scores down somewhat, with Romania’s Ion Dumitrescu winning the gold medal with 192 birds out of 200. The defending champion, Galliano Rossini, won the silver medal.
