The Mexican team of Rafael Osuna and Vicente Zarazúa won this event, defeating the Spaniards, Manuel Santana and Juan Gisbert in the final in straight sets. Mixed teams were allowed to compete in this event. Osuna was known as a top doubles player, but usually played alongside Antonio Palafox, with that team winning the 1962 US Championship and 1963 Wimbledon.
